Although we do not have a full time troupe in Canberra the service areas of our troupes in Sydney and Melbourne overlap across the A.C.T by design. So we can easily send either troupe to schools across Capital country anytime!

for 17 years Fools In Progress Theatre Company has operated out of Sydney. Performing and teaching Commedia dell'arte in schools and to the public and have become synonymous with Commedia dell'arte in Australia. Receiving requests from across the country to perform. And so the first thing Artistic Director Ben-Jamin Newham did after inheriting the role from our retired founder was begin expanding the company by finding well trained, talented and experienced Commedia performers to head up Fools In Progress in other states and auditioning talented actors to perform with them. All while installing the same high production value and quality.  that our Sydney troupe took years to grow into and we have proudly done just that ensuring even more students have the chance to #ACTTHEFOOL

Fools In Progress Sydney has performed at over 100 schools in NSW over the years (most have us back every single year) and we have introduced almost 200,000 students to the magic of Commedia dell'arte. Our first shows performed to students who now prepare to start sending their children to school.

At Fools In Progress Theatre Company our Fools In Schools program is our proudest achievement as a company and we take the job of being silly very seriously. So we continue to improve and innovate and develop to try to be funnier, more shocking, surprising and master a style of theatre that has entertained generations for hundreds of years while growing  towards our goal of becoming Australia's National Commedia dell'arte company.
