We are the 'Fools In Progress Theatre Company' 

 If you have ever tried learning, teaching, watching, producing or performing Commedia dell’arte in Australia then you already know what a fool's errand it can be, and that is precisely why we exist.   Since we first got ‘in progress’ in 2007 Fools In Progress Theatre Company has performed at 100+ schools around Australia, performed almost 1000 shows and introduced 100,000+ Australian students to the magic of Commedia dell’arte.   

If in the past you have seen a Fools In Progress performance and/or attended a Commedia dell’arte, slapstick or full day performance workshop then-  1) Thank you 2) If you thought we were good before, you should see us now! And 3)... We miss you! 

  However - if we have never [dis]graced your school, hall, stage, studio, screen or  classroom with our seriously slapstick style then- why not?   Even a fool knows that Commedia dell’arte is very tough to teach properly- especially if the students have never seen the style in action before. But do not despair! The ‘Expert Fools’ from Fools in Progress Theatre Company are here to help!  Both our 'Fools-In-Schools' and our full scale, professional Commedia dell’arte productions combine over 35 years of authentic, traditional and international Commedia training and performance experience into professional level productions which offer serious ‘bang for your buck’ with over $40,000 worth of handmade masks, costumes/props and sets.   

We pride ourselves on keeping our audiences engaged and in stitches from the moment we step on stage till the moment the curtain closes.  and on how we teach Commedia dell’arte, in a whole new way. Covering the characters, context and slapstick comedy stylings of Commedia. All in a digestible, comprehensible yet intensive and comprehensive workshop.    

We are available anytime and on short notice throughout QLD, NSW, ACT, and VIC.   Our shows and workshops are COVID SAFE. Our actors/trainers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have a valid WWCC.
